I earned my PhD in mathematics from the University of Utah. For over 25 years, I taught at public and private universities across the U.S. and Canada, including Colorado Mesa University from 1995 to 2000.
In 2014, my family and I moved back to Mesa County because we knew it was the best place we’d ever lived. The community, the outdoors, and the quality of life brought us back. I stepped away from work for a few years to support my wife’s career.
Since 2019, I’ve worked as a data analyst, where we use data to support decisions that affect the well-being of our entire community.
I have been married for over 40 years and we have two married adult sons and three grand children, age 1, 4, and 5.
I’ve lived in areas served by investor-owned, city-owned, and member-owned utilities. In my experience, member-owned cooperatives like Grand Valley Power are the best model—nonprofit, member-led, and focused on service rather than profit.
With a background in math, data, and problem-solving, I bring a unique perspective to Grand Valley Power. I believe in using evidence, listening to members, and building a co-op that works for all of us—not just today, but for the future.
I’d be honored to earn your vote for the GVP Board. If you have any questions or thoughts, please feel free to reach out.
